The Boy Done Good

We don't normally cover players signing Pro-Youth contracts (maybe we should?) but in this case the lad is the son of one of our own so we are making an exception.

Callum Penman signs from Galston Youth Football Club, who also supplied us with Greg Kiltie, clearly an indication of the quality of coaching available in the Irvine Valley.

A real team player, Penman has been utilised all over the park for Galston, mostly as an attacking midfielder or forward, but Killie have taken his impressive goals and assist record into account and will probably play him up front.

His father Tony, a Killie die-hard, said: "What a week it's been. I've been bursting with the news but wanted to wait until he actually signed. He played as a trialist against St Mirren last weekend and made a really positive impact".

Paul MacDonald and his coaches must agree and are delighted to add Callum to the pro-youth roster at the club. One to watch out for we say!
