Be The Boss - Robert Morton

You know the score by now. Every week we ask Killie fans from all across the world to pick their XI for that weekend's fixture. This weekend we're away to Inverness at some ungodly hour in the first post-split fixture. We asked Robert Morton, the man who brought Marie Osmond to Rugby Park, to Be The Boss.

GK: Jamie MacDonald
Not just Killie Player of The Year but must be in the shortlist for Scottish Player of The Year. His saves up at Perth in the Scottish Cup and at home to St Johnstone last week were world class.

RB: Mark O’Hara
Has really started to mature and, while I think he may well end up as a central midfielder, he’s played well at right back recently.

CB: Conrad Balatoni
In my top 3 for Player of The Year. Solid defender and has had a good season despite having numerous central defensive partners.

CB: Miles Addison
What a unit! He looks and acts like a leader and talks others through the game . We’ve not conceded since his debut against Partick. At 6’3” he must be intimidating to opponents and is a threat up front from set pieces.

LB: Lee Hodson
Been a good signing. He has his weaknesses and has to stop the winger getting to the bye line but puts in a shift.

CM: Gary Dicker
Gives 100% and links up well. He is prone to the odd mistake but has a decent engine for Central Midfield.

CM: Julien Faubert
His fitness is improving with every game and with his experience he could play a very important role in keeping us up. I have been disappointed with his results from a dead ball so I’m hoping with an improvement from that Boyd & Magennis can benefit.

LM: Greg Kiltie
Been a shining light in a struggling team and I was delighted he re-signed. Never gives up a ball as lost and is willing to track back. Always keen to get forward and supply the ammunition.

RM: Alex Henshall
My only change from the 3-0 win v St Johnstone. I don’t know much about him but I have to trust that Lee Clark wouldn’t have signed him if he didn’t think he could do a job for us in the run in. I know Higgy got a goal and Rory won a penalty last week, and neither lack the effort, but I feel neither get past their marker often enough to supply the crosses. This is your chance Alex. Don’t let me down!!

ST: Josh Magennis
In my top 3 for Player of The Year. He gives everything for the team and I hope our poor form doesn’t stop him from going to the Euros with Northern Ireland. He is happy to play wide right or through the middle beside Boyd. He is also more than handy at defending set pieces.

ST: Kris Boyd
2 goals last week so hopefully his confidence is up and it may well be his goals that let us avoid relegation.

After a 3-0 win it is difficult to change a winning team so my only change is wide right where i feel Alex Henshall is worth a chance. With Boyd and Magennis up front and Kiltie and Henshall supplying the crosses I feel we can take the game to Inverness and cause them some problems.

Our defence has tightened up considerably since the arrival of Lee Clark and the signing of Miles Addison and when it has leaked, Jamie McDonald has saved us. Without him we may well be where Dundee Utd find themselves at the moment. It’s not only goal scorers that win you games. Even at 2-0 last week, a goal for St Johnstone would have given them the encouragement to bomb forward and go in search of an equaliser.

Just look at Hibs v Falkirk...
